THE PIT MASTER
Tyler Frazer
Two decades of smoke. A lifetime of passion.
Where It All Began
Tyler Frazer grew up in Amarillo, Texas with a deep love for food and fire. His career in barbeque started with Mrs. Baird's Ultimate Smoker and Grill — the world's largest transportable smoker — where he catered events across the country.
From Kansas City to Seattle to San Francisco, Tyler fed thousands at some of the biggest events in America. He served 9,200 hotdogs at the Texas/OU game. He fed 3,500 people at LA Children's Hospital. He learned what it takes to serve great food to great crowds.
With 20+ years in the consumable business — including time as a buyer for a national retailer with 160 stores — Tyler had the experience, the knowledge, and the fire in his belly. He built a 5-year plan. And he executed it.
“I didn't just want to open a restaurant. I wanted to build something that would last — something Amarillo could be proud of.”
— Tyler Frazer
Tyler's Barbeque Today
Today, Tyler's Barbeque stands at 3301 Olsen Boulevard in Amarillo, Texas — a testament to decades of hard work, dedication, and the simple belief that great barbeque starts with great wood, great meat, and great patience.
The restaurant has been recognized by Texas Monthly (Top 50, twice), National Geographic, Fox News, Yelp (Top 10 in Texas), and countless other outlets. Tyler frequently sells out before closing time — because when it's gone, it's gone.
But the accolades aren't what drive Tyler. It's the faces of the people walking through the door. It's watching someone take their first bite of brisket and close their eyes. That's what it's all about.
